Where can I sell the guts from a catalytic converter?

In years past I scrapped some catalytic converters and got like 50 bucks for a small one.
Does anyone know where I can sell the innards from a converter. I punched one out on a truck that was only used off road.
Now I have the honeycomb pieces in a bag and the scrap buyers in Denver won't buy it.
Need a buyer.
Also, does anyone know how much of the catalyst in a cat. is platinum?

Scrap buyers are shying away from converters, lately thieves have been
Cutting them off cars in parking lots.
Lots of buyers have been taking heat from the Police over buying them.
Some areas you have to show proof of ID & they will only mail you a check.

Is there any way to recover the platinum yourself? Mine fell off my ancient Honda and we're about to give the car away

Ask the local muffler shops, what they do with the ones they change out.

There's probabley a traveling buyer that comes and gets them.

A few years ago, Stillwater Mining supported a collection program, I think they discontinued it though, something about losing a lotta money.

Search the web, used to be a guy in Tennesee that would buy nationwide.

I think Pt recovery is a huge chemical process, not simple at all, better to pass it on to the
refiners.
