I just put in a limit order to double the number of shares for my biggest mining stock loser. I still have faith in the company and so I'm dollar cost averaging GSV (Gold Standard Ventures). Dollar amount isn't all that much as I'm looking on this being a long long term payout. I just need POG to make a decent move to feel like I'm doing the right thing by sticking with it.

This year two of my miners have been acquired.

Pretium Gold (PVG) was acquired by the Australian Newcrest Mining
José Maria Resources (JOSE) was acquired by Lundin Gold.

If the acquisition of Yamana by Gold Fields goes on, that will end up being three.

But no: it doesn't hold over the long haul. Moreover the 'secular perspective' is shown to be extremely bleak.
