    It's tools like this guy who wrote the slate piece and other snobs who produce nothing but tripe. It's his ilk that sometimes make me hope the doomsayers on this forum are right. Sad that society will pay a man like this to write while hard working people are stuck on food stamps, unable to find work.

    While the author writes like a reject from The New Yorker, he (she?) is actually supportive of gold. Although, from the obtuse writing style it can be hard to tell what point s/he's making.
