Thread: Please use 'Ignore' feature

  1. #1

    Default Please use 'Ignore' feature

Our moderators often receive reports from members who do not wish to be bothered with posts from certain members. There are many reasons for these requests. The forum has a feature called 'Ignore' that should be used by members who do not wish to read posts from specific members on the forum. Here is an explanation of how to use the feature.

    Ignore List

This is a list of users you wish to ignore. To add a user to your ignore list, go to your User CP and in the left Nav Panel under Miscellaneous, select [Buddy / Ignore Lists], type the username you wish to ignore in the Ignore List blank and click [Update Ignore List]

Posts from users that you are ignoring are hidden from view when logged into the forums.

I have added a poll to help determine if this feature is being used and whether members find it adequate in most cases.

I'm wayyyy too curious to use ignore. LOL
Plus... hard as it is to admit it...
It's like sharpening your knife on a whetstone.
A little spit and grit just gives you a better edge.
... Must resist urge to test for sharp...unclench jaw... LOL
I learn a lot more from people I disagree with than the conga line.
Although some days... it looks more like the chicken dance y'know?

What are all these feathers doin' here?
Looks like somebody killed a comforter.
The new guy went down on a pillow...nod...That explains it...sigh...
People... Please use words like Nest Egg, Plucked Goose, Just Ducky with care...
"Could we get a clean-up on thread 'Ignore'? ...thread Ignore?... Ignore?..."
Nobody understands 'Bus Depot' Public Address anymore...It's Kinda like Walmart with more re-verbs.
or...Hey... you guys are funny...they are 'ignoring' me...HUH...
Can't decide if that's just twisted or actually kinky...I'm up for both actually...
But y'all know that already eh? Yep... word gets around and so do I....LOL
    I gotta go make coffee...

Ignore? How absurd! I'd miss half the soap opera if I did that!

Feral, the only people who needed ignore was a guy called Digger from k2 forum.'

He spammed the forum with ads every NY open and close.

    About 10 topics.

I have not had to use the ignore feature since the mods come and save us.

A little help to determine twisted from kinky my dear. Twisted is when you use a feather and Kinky is when you use the whole damn chicken.

    Default Trolls n Such

I've used Ignore in the past when someone was an obvious troll or someone with a one way point of view not interested in discourse or abusive to others. It seems most of those types eventually drifted away into the mists of time.

I do have to admit that sometimes I just HAD to unIgnore some of 'em, so I could keep up with the carnival.......

there is an addon for firefox users called Ffvb that, for those who use firefox and want to eliminate someone, works much better than the forums ignore function.
