Thread: "User Ignore" list -- use it!

  1. #1

Default "User Ignore" list -- use it!

This may be familiar territory to Kitca users, but I've been on and off here for over 1 1/2 yrs and didn't know it; also searched and didn't find any threads directly on it.

If the trolls who post here annoy you, you can add them to an "Ignore" list and not see their posts.

Easy to do: click "User CP" (upper left tool bar), "Miscellaneous" (near bottom of left-hand menu), "Buddy/Ignore Lists," and type the user's name in. All you'll see after that is a slim empty blank for the troll's posts -- just what they deserve.

Remember -- ignoring the trolls is the only sure way to make them go elsewhere.

Default Report post icon, Ignore feature.

If members see any abuse of our Rules of Membership we ask that you click on the 'report post' icon which can be found on the page that shows the offending post/s. This will bring the problem to the attention of our team of moderators for them to determine if there needs to be any action on the report.

Ignore lists are used for those people whose messages you wish not to read. By adding someone to your ignore list, those messages posted by these individuals will be hidden when you read a thread.

To place a member in your ignore list you go to your User CP (control panel) and then click on the Buddy/Ignore item, then put in the member's name who you wish to have added in your 'ignore' list.

It's not exactly true that you don't see the posts. I find the effect to be even more annoying than the posts it hides. I am quite able to ignore posts with my mind power alone!

I find the same holds true when I put my wife on ignore. Just gets that much more annoying.

I hear ya, but I can usually figure out generally what's going on by the nature of the responses to the particular party I'm thinking of, and this way I'm not tempted to get involved; instead I can say: "let them fight it out."
Besides, my mind power is mostly gone at this point....

Can you put a mod on "ignore"?

    No... just kidding!

I found out there are two kinds of folk you can't put on ignore on this site. You can't put the Mods on ignore, and you can't put yourself on ignore either. But it's a kinda funny message when you try.

Oh, and an easy way to add folk to your ignore list is to open the offending person's user profile by clicking their username. Then click on "Add _______ to your ignore list." Done.
