Yes Goldi, no truer words than those. We got hit by inflation and it is still excessive up here. I just got walloped by a hefty government property tax increase. They are just as guilty of causing inflation as any large greedy corporation.

Not sure if Abakan is British or American, I would be doing the same thing if I found a honey hole like he has discovered. Like the old quote, "never share your goldmine" or you'll come to regret it.

    "abakan must be British"

I suspect so. Likely lives near a large city not named London, where citizens being crushed by the cost of power policies and food. Sad situation.

Back where I am, in Tejas, sovs are getting much less numerous. Two years ago my LCS had sovs roll in once or twice a week in bunches of 5 to 10 or so. Enough choice was available was able to buy specific years & mints to fill in gaps in the stack.
Never were many YH shields, but other game was usual to bag. But, no more.
Lucky now if 10 sovs a month step in and 2 weeks ago bought a couple to fill those gaps.
Less fortunate, the markup had risen, from the years long $10 per coin to now 5%.
Steep indeed, but paid up for what I wanted.

Will pay that again if a C3 ever rolls in.
    Wish me luck.

    British? American? Maybe, maybe not.

Just got Charles III No. 4. This time the proof Coronation one with a relatively low serial number. More than I hoped it would cost, but I bet in 10-15 years it will look like a great deal.

    Nothing "new" here.

LCS had like 13 Sovs to chose from. Mostly Elizabeths sadly.

But I was able to snatch three sovs none the less. And even for spot.

    1896M
    1911L
    1912L

I already have all 3 in my stash, but they are in such a great shape I even might send them to PCGS/NGC to have them graded ( the 1896M anyway, the others are too common )

Looks like the 2023 proof coronation sovereign is not such a great success. Just received my second one and guess what? It has a MUCH lower serial number than the first one.

Hopefully the royal mint has not destroyed the collectors marked with all the different issues and privies.
Waiting for the bullion version to hit the market.
