I've got some 10 gram gold pamps. I figure if I have to sell then I won't get ripped off so much if it were and oz.

Why would you get ripped off selling one over the other?

I’ve been picking up dos pesos near spot lately so those are my current favorite flavor until that well runs dry. If you’re a small time stacker they make it pretty easy to increase your holding. They work for me at my slow and steady pace.

I'm assuming I would be forced to sell for various reasons. One article I read years ago about Argentina and the selling of gold/silver for cash during high inflationary times was you never got what 24k gold was worth. No way to tell without testing and that's not going to be the protocol on the street. They suggested junk silver and gold was the best as that is what you probably are going to get paid for.

i stack the 90% silver for the same reason as redraspberry stated above. the fractional gold coins for the same reason regarding the authenticity of actual precious metal contents in these government minted coins of the realm.

Been pricing out 1/4 oz. coins. Well lets just say, I'm hoping for a great big dip. Premiums are anywhere from $75.00 to $100.00 depending how fancy a guy wants.

I buy British sovereigns for my fractional gold...Just under 1/4 oz (.2354 troy gold content per coin) .22 karat, same purity as eagles. I usually get them for around a 4% premium or about $20-$25/ coin. I've even got quite a few for a 2% premium.

That is a good buy price.

You folks in the USA are lucky. We have to pay 7% tax, on top of the total price which includes the premium for gold less than 99.5 pure gold. To avoid the tax, peer to peer seems like the way to go, but then some want an unrealistic premium. Over the years I've bought directly from Britain and once in awhile they get through customs duty free, but that is rare.

Dos and dos-y-medios (2, 2.5 peso) are great looking, and good fractional to collect/use. Plus the clear pvc tubes hold 50 and feel real good in the hand.

Why not work a deal directly with some small miners up in the Yukon? I'm sure they are getting screwed selling dore bars too.

gold dore bars are still around 400 oz sizes, hardly in the realm of fractionals
