“They’ve done their market research. I think it’s a very clever way to get their name in the news and have some great publicity,” Rose explained to CNBC.

ok i dug into it more, at closing Sep 29, 2023

my bullion seller, just 10 mins drive away selling

1oz Gold Bar .9999 RECOGNIZED RCM 1-24 Quantity <1910 USD < 2600 CAD ( i don't want to quote exact price as it might conflict kitco forum policy.)

Even kitco online selling 1 oz PAMP bar for $2642.52 CAD

costco price as of Sep 28 closing, $2679.99 CAD

(It seem US costco selling PAMP bar cheaper at 1899.99 or 2579 USD at forex rate)

    https://globalnews.ca/news/9992179/c...d-bars-canada/

It’s worth noting that in Canada the price listed on the Costco Canada website is slightly higher than what’s offered to TD Bank customers for the same 24-karat item ($2,670.21.)

Wow, what a deal, flying off the costco shelves.. LOL

i doubt costco has hedging program, they have to eat what they bought

costco gold PAMP bar price likely don't adjust to spot price.

Can you get the 2% rebate on Mastercard and the 2% rebate if you have the executive card on gold purchases. If so maybe worth a good look.

Certainly convenient for the 2 coins per week you are allowed.

i don't have costco account. I don't eat enough to warrant bulk buy.
website says executive membership cost 120 CAD./year So if one buy 2 or more gold bar/year, the 2% rebate do pays out the membership.

I find costco is overstaffed, hence product prices can't be too cheap

I do not have one either. Just 2 of us so when I go I go with sister who has one. Just cheap I guess. But I read that they offer 2 per cent on MasterCard purchases and 2 percent on rebate if you buy the 120 membership. Up to 1000 rebate

So if I buy 20 ounces over a year I could get almost the equivalent of 4 per cent off price and shop there myself.

If the gold qualifies. I looked at the exclusions and it does not say gold

We are Canadian but probably same in US. Wondering if anyone here tried it and received the 2 plus 2 rebate

it does look like a loophole or a purposeful bait to encourage new membership.
Technically, one only need to buy one oz gold PAMP bar per year to help pay for the annual 120$ Exclusive membership (~2800 CAD x 4% = 112 CAD). It's like buying gold at spot because most 1 oz gold premium runs about 3-4% premium. However, one has to like stacking PAMP bar to exploit this costco offer
