    Default 2023 rectangular dragon Australia

Was collecting these in the past and saw for sale on JM bullion. Very rare to see gold or silver 1 oz in bar form from government mint given the apparent popularity of art bars

That is a great looking gold bar and4rik, but I'm biased as I'm a year of the dragon dude.

Yes I have a small Perth dragon collection and proof silver bars as well. Wish they did not crop the edges so much, the earlier bars had a much less confusing composition. Why are 1 oz bars not popular with government mints?

When I buy bars I buy only upon the cost and not the pretty engraved design used to make the mold. It's bullion, not a rare coin, IMHO. But to each their own. I do have to say I do own a few Englehard silver bars, but I didn't pay extra to buy them. If someone wants to pay me crazy high prices to buy them from me, I'm willing to sell. But it has to be crazy high.

True enough LongDon. Once in awhile something comes along that speaks to the buyer. Like a mini work of art that has meaning beyond bullion. It may not be every ones cuppa tea.

In a SHTF scenario It will be just... How sure can I be that it's pure, What does it weigh, and what is the current value per ounce. and it might not even be fiat...It might rather be pounds of beef, # of chickens and tubs of wheat flour per ounce.

I don't have any gold bars from this series only silver. JM dis have some proof gold for sale I think 2019 I wish I would have bought one as the premium was not high even then. Grabbed a sealed tube instead and was even inching up to a monster box of 250 oz but just could seem to pull the trigger, kind of wish I had now, oh well that money went to other coins that have performed equally well. If I remember I bought a bunch of eagles, those have done really well, and considering these Perth coins commonly go for $60 an oz I don't think that would be all that difficult for silver eagles to accomplish even with at top of around 30$ oz.

If I had more money than brains I'd be lining up for those Germania silver rounds. Bu Tee Full. But too rich for my blood, so to speak.

Yes, there are a lot of 'pretty things' available. But once in a awhile you can treat yourself 'cuz you can't take it with you when we turn to dust.
