I have not found anything better regarding ease of access and interest rates very close to any c d's in marketplace.
Simple to set up with no minimum $'s necessary.
    jmho.
Seven day yield of 4.9453? Are you sure it isn't an annual yield of 4.9453%? You would 6x your money in a year. If that is the case, I want you to tell me exactly how you are doing that.

no no no it is the annual yield but it is guaranteed that rate for 7 days. if rates go up it resets at that new rate for the next 7 days. if rates drop, it also resets after 7 days, and the interest earned pays out every 15 days. i have the 15 day earnings automatically added into the principal every 15 days when it pays out. it is like a c. d. payout but not locked up for the full term of a c. d. where you pay a penalty if you need it early. ie. a $100 6 month c.d. paying 5% annual yield would earn you $2.50 when it matures (not $5 unless you lock it in again for another 6 months at same 5% annual yield.)

Gotcha. Do you have to roll them yourself every seven days or do they roll automatically? I used to use Charles Schwab but they transitioned (I hope I don't get banned for the internet for using that word) to Ameritrade.

Is it a Schwab account? I think I had Schwab and it changed to Ameritrade and then to TDAmeritrade

I hear you, Red, In my province the marginal rate of It is 55% over 150,000

I spend 90% of my time minimizing taxes, not on investment returns. ( dividend income from Canadian companies, or in a tax deferred instrument or alternative investments)

That is not as it should be. It is alright for those that know the ropes but it is ridiculous from an efficiency or fairness point of view.

In the USA, not only is everything that doesn't move (and some of those things too) is taxed, but a veteran can lose their VA benefits if their household income is over a certain income.

    See: http://help.workworldapp.com/wwwebhe...thresholds.htm

However, if you are here illegally, then line up for benefits!
