$27 seems to be the going price online for a generic 1oz
What are they charging for eagles, 65$? But seriously can anyone tell me why there is a premium of 4.50$ on generic. There is no shortage or supply chain issue, seems to me that these prices are not due to demand but from people willing to pay the extra 3$ per oz. Are these new buyers to the silver market and not understanding they are being ripped off

??? "not due to demand"... your reason is exactly what demand is.

Mines not shipping silver due to low price, find silver, buy the raw silver, refine it, ship it to the mint, turn it into planchets, stamp planchets, package in tubes, ship to wholesellers, ship to dealers and all while making a profit with diesel fuel at $8/gal and workers wanting a living wage and LCS rent going through the roof. Plus shortages of plastics to make tubes and truck drivers parked due to low profits. No sweat, but premiums of $0.59 are long gone. Get used to Joe's transformation of making the USA a third world country and economy. Have you priced a pound of bacon recently?

When you go to a ballgame and they charge 8$ for a cup of beer, do you consider that demand? Or just price gouging. Just because people are willing to pay more than what something is worth does not equate fully to demand. I'm sure there are economic terms explaining the situation, but I don't have a clue.

To continue, online retailers are fully stocked with gold/silver. Period. Not the situation we saw at the beginning of the pandemic. If the big guys can afford to charge inflated prices and the market as a whole (smaller retailers, online auctions, etc.) respond buy charging the same, or maybe slightly less if you look for deals, I would not call that demand but artificial price inflation.
