Vertical, you are wrong. Jesus never sanctioned eating Pigs. It is certainly not an unpardonable sin, but it is still not wise.

You must all make your own decisions based on your conviction.

They are for other purposes. If you do an indepth study, you will find that the "food" animals were made for for a specific reason. And that reason could not have been known 5000 years ago. Really, you either follow the creator, or you make it up for yourself. Why he does what he does will never be fully known until we are in his presence.

AtlasShrugged, I did not call you by your handle nor tell you your belief was "wrong" Rather I merely quoted a bible passage in the NT.
This public forum about the price of bacon is not the correct format for discussion of the religious connotations of pork. Rather, that
the price of pork belly (bacon) as a commodity is steeply going in a rather expensive direction. It may not even be the commodity itself. Perhaps
what I see was the markup from the middle men. I found the phenomenon interesting as a trend. YMMV

Rumbles of LUMBER taking the same type of trends currently YMMV

Thomas Jefferson is credited with writing, “When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty.” The seceding states in the Civil War period issued a similar declaration using the word “tyranny” as opposed to “injustice.”

Yes, for those with Christian convictions, this question was unequivocally answered in Acts Chapter 10. Generally held to be taken literally (in relation to food) and metaphorically ( that the Jewish Christians should not shun gentile converts). This supplants all of the Old Testament dietary restrictions.

Personally, a life without ham, bacon, and pork rinds ain't worth living.
"It's the lure of easy money - It's got a very strong appeal." - Glenn Frey (The Smuggler's Blues)

"A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned." - Thomas Jefferson

    Wrong.

The sheet of animals has nothing to do with eating.
