Addressing Maxwells concern. Hydrogen fuel cells do use platinum and Toyota is still working on the tech. They recently created a conversion kit for the diesel engine on big rigs. California approved it. I wish I had a crystal ball as your point about the catalytic conversion is a consideration I have had as well.

One look at Nikola stock and obviously things are not going well. Last I checked their hydrogen tech using platinum electrode seemed like a good idea.

my issue with platinum is that it has waivered between 800 and 1100 for so long - muich longer than either gold or silver with minimal movement that i am just not convinced it will move much higher before it dumps back down to the 900 level again. also, a driving factor years back was the link to catalytic converters and those are soon to be a thing of the past it seems

I feel the same way having been watching it's sport price for years. I'm not buying anymore, just using my digital PPLT to trade back and forth with Gold ETF (SGOL). Most recent was plat to gold at ratio of under 1.8. Yup, that's when I start trading from platinum, such are my lowered expectations for the metal now. Only at 2.0 do I go from Gold to Platinum. I have a lot of physical platinum that I will hold long term, however if 1:1 ratio ever comes again, I'll be selling that to for trade into gold.

Hi Max. I got a Pt Philharmonic at the Sarasota Rare Coin by the Ford dealer on 301. I used to hunt deals on the web and ebay, but I lack confidence the coins I would get wouldn't be fakes. I trust the coin shop to sell genuine product and I can sleep at night.

Default one million oz. Platinum Deficit forecast for 2023!!

Buy platinum now while its still cheap!!

Platinum demand predicted to surge this year, leaving a near 1-million-ounce deficit

"...The platinum deficit for 2023 will be around 983,000 ounces (983 koz), the WPIC report said, which is a 77% upward revision compared to its last forecast in March..."

This is why I am buying Platinum

Why was platinum so high in 2008?
Back in March 2008, platinum hit its all time high at $2252/oz. This was brought about by not only a weak dollar but also production concerns due to South African mining power problems. Remarkably, it fell to $774/oz in November 2008 such was the sell off.

I think its cheap. These black swan type events hit all of the metals eventually. I just think that the upside for Platinum is pretty high up.

I think sub $900 is always a good time to buy - especially for those have none.
