Red is correct. The Fed will have contributed over 100 million in income to the treasury this year.
This is great except that it also works the other way. If the Fed needs to unwind its bloated balance sheet ( full of bonds and MBS - much of it long dated)
they will incur significant capital losses. That is one of the reasons, no doubt, that they have not done so.
Interest rates will go up if the market smells out the Fed is reducing its portfolio and significant losses will be passed on to the taxpayer ( treasury)

below is the daily, monthly and yearly figures for each category.
You may note that the treasury will need to borrow some significant money very soon to build up its solvency position. Like by the end of this month.

If I remember correctly Powell became hawkish then Trump complained, and said, Hey this isn't fair how come you (FEDS) let the Democrats and Obama get away with low rates but throw this party under the bus? At one time Trump was considering dismissing Jerome Powell? After that Powell became like a little dove more like tinkerbell.
seems incestuous is the correct word.

That Trump wanted to continue the low interest rate control policy for his political benefit shows Trump was not interested in correcting course back toward stable monetary policy.

Reagan did not want high interest rates but acquiesced to Volcker who also reluctantly did what he had to do to change course and high rates of inflation. These guys withstood the "heat".

OK, OK, by the time Trump came, we were down a long destructive uber Keynesian road and into MMT. Perhaps Trump and Biden cannot stop without crashing the whole shebang. But the Donald sure looked like he never gave "correction" a thought. He was selling himself as a winner and savior - while pouring more gasoline onto the fire.

What value did Burisma think to gain by hiring Hunter Biden as a Board member vs ALL other choices?

Those who cannot articulate the other argument do not fully understand their own argument.

FED's last meeting of the year TOMORROW

What is going on with the Maxwell trial?
Thomas Jefferson is credited with writing, “When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty.” The seceding states in the Civil War period issued a similar declaration using the word “tyranny” as opposed to “injustice.”

"That Trump wanted to continue the low interest rate control policy for his political benefit shows Trump was not interested in correcting course back toward stable monetary policy".

Trump was, is, and will forever be a "liberal" (or should I say transexual-fascist-socialist) in my own view, he was "made" by the liberal media's exposure. But I guess even his minor variations (and not always repeating verbatim the PC line), could be painted and exaggerated by the Power that Be such that he developed a cult following among those not so given to following our trans FS leadership.

Much of all in politics and banking is a lie. What you see is not what you get, and it is certainly not in the productive working mans benefit. The parasites rule over all, no matter which party you may have allegiance to, no matter which nation you live in. There may be a few exceptions, however they will always be painted as wacko or "terrorist". So should we just join them because we can't beat them? Not for me, thus why I keep sticking to honest, natural, God given elements and beings, such as gold and women. Digits and Buggary for the rest, I'm never going to change, and nor will the real markets and evolution. Will just keep my aim true and life can be good.
“Of all the contrivances for cheating the laboring class of mankind, none has been more effective than that which deludes them with paper money.”Daniel Webster (1782-1852)
