You bet Silverone; Especially when you consider the purchasing power decline in the interval,
officially around 12%+ but certainly much higher in reality.

    Here is an interesting fact.
If you had a stock and all it did was hold its value with inflation and paid no dividends. You sold it 18 years later
and say inflation increase by 4% per year, it would have doubled in value and the government would have its hand out
for a sizable contribution. That is even with you being not a penny ahead in the value of the fiat you paid and the fiat you received.

This is only one of the many, many reasons that governments love inflation, and will always try to enable it, along with their sidekicks, the CB`s.
Never trust what they say, look at their actions and past history. This is good advice in all matters.

GDP has been negative since late April 2022.
Losing around $800 Million per day GDP, while adding approx: $2 Billion per day in Debt.
1835 Andrew Jackson had US debt at ZERO $0
    175 YEARS later .......
2008 Owebama started at $10 TRILLION, left 2016 at $20 TRILLION
    So from 2008 - 2021 (13 years) added $20 TRILLION
