There are some who are not interested in what we can learn while in space other than for a profit motive
Some are more keen on the idea of Escape
I'm still curious to understand why this risk of space travel is so unimportant to some of them while others overlook the profitability of stuff still left in the things here on earth
The goals exceeds the risk, I suppose, but it's one expensive endeavor to launch rockets and these things do blow up sometimes, things do go wrong
There are some who have forward paid for said Escape if only to receive the reward of a safe return from whence they came
I don't get it, if it makes no sense, it has to be for something else other than for science and profit motive but this Escape thing really boggles my mind
Some shout out the idea that "we" need to get off of this planet before it's too late, etc...let's be serious, there's no Chump Change on any list for any Escape, now is there?
Chump won't be invited to any Escape party, I won't make any profit from any further space adventures
And the technology that comes from space adventures is certainly going to cost me, at the consumer level, to be able to utilize it in my daily life, if that time ever comes and because I'm a taxpayer, I'll foot my portion of the bill for the creation of any such technology so, where's the benefit for CC? Where's the benefit for We The People?
Sorta like paying for someone else's pension, not once but twice, yet there's no one paying for mine, except for me, so I'm out the cost of 3 pensions and guess which one will have the lowest value?, mine, of course
I'm not against exploration but the story I'm being sold, today, here on Earth, is one of exclusion and guilt and hate
How in God's name are humans supposed to leave the earth, fit into a tin can and get along?
These aren't military folks I'm referring to, with discipline and courage running in their veins, these are some "regular people" with "regular needs" I'm talking about
Oh, it won't be for you or me so, maybe there's some special training that folks like Stephen Hawking will undergo before he boards his rocket to Mars
But then, to expect to cater to the needs of a special person, while in space, seems a bit far-fetched right from the git-go
