The junior mining sector is still suffering a bit, said Jeff Pontius, chief executive officer for Corvus Gold. "It will take some time for things to take off like we are used to seeing in 2007-2009. The real lack is attention in the marketplace of equities, we are seeing the broader markets, the Dow, all go up and the junior mining sector trying to create a lower risk portfolio," he said. Speaking from the Precious Metals Summit, a conference focused on the junior mining sector, Pontius said the focus now is the company's latest project - The Mother Lode - acquired this past summer. "Our goal is to put together a million ounces by the Spring of next year," he said.
