when those who are officially and willingly blind are admitting reality, then the beams of the structure are already so molded that you might have no chance anymore to get indemn out of the house... It means that she announced to her fellow rich people the common pub " last orders" call to buy still gold at a "reasonable" price.

Gold reached an all time high...and then went higher.

Can't help but to think this is very bad news.

Gols at an all time high of 2092 $.

Many global banks see gold in 2024 in the range of 2050-2100 $

In my opinion, the volatile geopolitics can cause big jumps in gold price.
The financial experts cannot predict geopolitics events.

What do the charts say ?

Gold is exploding, parabollicaly. However, the demand (in the OBV) is still
increasing.RSI has not reached the upper limit of 80 %. The 200 DMA has
been and is still going up. CTM (Chande Trend Meter) is in the very strong area.

I do not forecast but I think gold is still going up for a short while, followed by a correction
downwards. If after the correction is still going up and exceeding the former peak, then
the sky is the limit. Actually this is not a forecast but the way most stocks behave.

Yes, I think it is a strong hand (whale) which buys lots of gold.

As I write the price of gold is more than 50 $ up.

What actually happened from December 03 to December 04, 2023 ?

Huge fluctuations in the price of gold. But what is behind this ?

    https://sprott.com/insights/sprott-s...-closing-high/

Treasury Liquidity Index showed small liquidity in treasuries, sign that
US Treasury had to improve liquidity. And Treasury did that by: 1) announced
a smaller refunding 2) the Fed began dovish talk 3) the risk premium was reduced.

All these caused lower long term yields, the US $ fell sharply boosting gold sharply.

But...the Treasury still has to improve liquidity, which will bring US $ lower, which
will bring gold higher. Sooooo ...follow the Treasury Liquidity Index.

This is in line with history. In the past, I had expected the big take off a few times. I have seen several increases, followed by decreases that I did not expect. Silver has gone to the moon ($50 ish) twice in my lifetime, but did not get close to that on the last run up. I now expect things to be mostly as you describe. Eventually things will be different, but predicting when, is like finding a winning lottery ticket.

This is no longer posted in the Fed Minutes of January 2008, but still quoted here - https://www.nbcnews.com/id/wbna22592939. The FOMC minutes still quote MR. Reifschneider. as stating the same thing.
