Just curious where you are seeing those premiums? Local dealer or online? I have the itch to buy but I can't find anything locally and apmex premiums are insane. I have a massive win playing baccarat over Thanksgiving weekend in a palm springs casino and want to load up.

SDbullion $1147 for queens beasts at the moment with spot @ 1067. Valcambi bars look to be $1118 so my subtraction was off by 10

Nice going on the baccarat winnings. Now you'll add in the multiplier effect

Too bad its SD, they are on my black list of dealers I will never buy from. I'd rather over pay on a couple of tubes of maples from apmex.

What happened with them to cause that?

They are my favorite, typically the best prices in the nation, and they are also good at buy back. Gold maples are 24K -- there should have been no surprise some in a tube got scratched up.

I think the higher we go, the lower the premium becomes. Still cant believe I was paying between 75-90 dollars for new coin premiums when I was getting gold coins at 20 dollars above spot not so long ago.
Happy to be out of PPLT and into physical...less tax worries and I have total control of it. PPLT charges 60 basis points per year while Im only paying 30 basis points for insurance and Brinks custody. And I will swap it at 1/1 with gold when the time comes ( I hope it will )
Most dealers are now charging taxes for California residents on platinum bars now - but nothing for coins due to some silly tax codes. Can that be why we can't find coins for nearly the cost of bars now? (This was not always the case).

    great interview here on Kitco

Border Gold is almost out of coins now...he sold all his Beasts and had only 19 Maples left as of yday...and his premiums are ridiculous now. 120 dollars. He said he only got 2 batches of Maple Platinums all of 2020.

    Yes good interview.

Also interesting on the coins supply points. Glad to have what I have.

I've personally never ordered from them but I've heard a lot of negative things about them including one on this forum. What did it for me was earlier this year my best friend and his co worker ordered BU silver and gold coins but they received circulated random year quality coins. Apparently this is common with them because someone on this forum had a similar thing happen to them and two guys from my LCS had the same complaint.

Ever since the tulving incident I'm hyper cautious of online dealers so thats why I'm staying away from them. I'm not saying they are like tulving but I don't like what I've heard about them so far.

Bought back into PPLT today, at the equivalent of about $990/oz. Will sell when it hits $1060. Back and forth the last few years -- what lessons the frustration of not seeing the platinum not taking off for years, is at least trading a portion of it (the digital of course). My buy sell points on this portion have been going up a little --- $1060 sell price is the highest I've set it. I trade paper because I also stack the physical and watch the digital price. Yet I don't get those who place all faith in digital -- guess that's why we even see zoom marriage now, people don't even know what is real anymore, not even for basic things like things like create life.

I hold the funds when not in PPLT is cash or gold. Maybe I should consider silver, but that element is just a little to wild (and industrially influenced) to use in such a way. Maybe a PGR thread is needed?
