i have the same problem and got some lengthy answers not lost but unable to emit, further one could usually reedit and correct some
writing or other faults, now i cannot anymore edit.

another point is i have visibly two Kitcos, one i have access to and another which probably is working with an old pin, but i do not have anymore. Can however not get rid of the one i cannot use.

almost every week there is an update on, but they never say what they do, I gess they put in spyware, this morning my wifes' computer didn't start, something was wrong, they said they would repair but it didn't work neither, then rebooted and again we could not statr the comp. Then a third time it worked.
I have heard they install spy or malware just in those twilight moments to get all kind of info probably bank info or other more personal info.

We have no idea what they insert, do or change, I think they should tell the user what they do or intend in plain. To say they update is IMO not enough.

For clarity Golditiki2 is speaking of his operating system - NOT the Kitco forum. Kitco does not update users computers or place any type of adware, etc on users machines.

The edit box issue seems to be intermittent - I recently again experienced it.

When it does occur I get around it by first quoting the post, copy the quoted text, and then cancel the quote. Then edit and paste the text with the quotes tags removed, do the edit and hit 'post quick reply' or 'Submit reply'.

    Regards.

edit to add: hightlighted work around. Interestingly, this time edit worked fine

I've had this issue for months with Firefox the only browser I use. It's a crap shoot if the edit feature will work or not.

say i reply to yr text using " reply with quote"
after jr [/ QUOTE] I write my text and then send it using the " Post Quick Reply "

it says then not enough characters and leaves a blank page. ( not this time but the times it did do so. I could get back to the original page with my text but retrying to send it bnever executed the sending ( neither by using " Go advanced" which sometimes succeeds ).
The point is i cannot even and that is the most ennoying when one has been constructing a well articulated text, the text is lost...and i do not know how to recuperate my text and reuse it E.G. in a "reply".

Moreover i do not understand what you mean by " copy the quoted text" when the quoted text and the reply are already linked together in the same new entity which has to be sent.

You saying " then edit and paste the text with the quotes REMOVED ( how do you do that ? ) puzzles me..

I have noticed that the problem usually happens when i write answers at hours which are corresponding to Toronto early hours in the morning ( 02 / or 03 AM Toronto time. ), Maybe the Kitco isite is then shut off , or updated?

Anyway I write for fun's sake so this is not a vital matter for me, just ennoying when one has been compoing a meticulous answer and it gets destroyed. I usually have to take my time to answer because i have sometimes to remodel my text and it is not always eadsy for me to do it fast and without mistakes, so sometimes the time space has probably been used and i have to relog in. Sometimes after having relogged in the text then appears as being sent, sometimes it is gone too ( this is a feature independent from the first mentioned non-possible sending of a reply which shows a blank page and says that the answer was too short. I noticed lately that in such cases the " quoted " text on which i answered did not have the usual [/QUOTE:] marking.

    Anyway thanks for the help

    HI goldtiki2,

By "edit and paste the text with the quotes tags removed," i mean remove the [QUOTE] and [/ QUOTE] (those are referred to as tags ). This will result in not being told "not enough characters".

It's a pain so I'm glad you are taking "for fun's sake"
