When using the quick reply and then going to advanced view the already entered text is in the preview pane, but the enter text field is empty. This just started yesterday.

Might be browser or settings related, I currently show no issues with Chrome & IE off Windows. Maybe anybody else could shine some light on this matter or has been experiencing this same problem ?

I just posted in the General forum and when I go to edit the post there is nothing in the edit box. This is both Firefox and IE.

Still happens randomly. When going to Advanced, text box is blank. Maybe it's just me and red. The one thing we have on common....

Tried to reproduce on different machines unsuccessfully. Not sure what the problem is; very hard to tell since it's not a consistent occurrence.

Quite frankly the whole text enter box has had issues since the last software change by Kitco. Many times it will not space copied text, some times it double spaces copied text. If I add a space to the copied text that in the preview pane shows no spacing it will then triple space sometimes.

To diagnose this we need to look for the common factor. I have not seen this using Firefox, even with Adblock Plus. That suggests to me that server side (i.e. at Kitco) may not be a common factor, unless it happens at some time perhaps under heavy load when I have not been on, or it depends on the route to the server, or some OS or add-on factor. So factors people need to note when experiencing this problem should include:
Time of day it happens (don't forget to specify time zone) and general geographic area (state should be good enough to begin with).
Which browser, which version of it, and any extensions/add-ons/plugins that you think might be relevant,
e.g. Adblock (which variant? There are forks and things with similar names). Which O.S. e.g. Windows (32 bit or 64 bit? XP, 7, 8, 8.1, or 10? Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, etc.), Android, etc.
Does it happen everywhere in the forum? Do you have an account on another forum based on vBulletin where you can check if the same edit problem occurs there? Kitco currently runs vBulletin 4.2.1. It might not be a good idea to suggest other gold/silver forums (I know one runs vBulletin 4.2.0), but here is one on an unrelated topic that runs vB 4.2.3:

Tip: To avoid data loss for any reason, prepare your post in an external editor (or copy it there while writing) and save it for future reference. If you do this for long enough, you will need a search engine to find stuff in your own files! (I suggest FileSeek by BinaryFortress...)
