How do you insert an image??

Every time I try to insert an image into my post, I get an error that the file is to big...too square...too anything at all...EVERY FRUSTRATING TIME. No idiot here...I know how the buttons work...I also know the mods have set up a bunch of filters for certain words and now suspect censorship on inserting photos...what else am I supposed to think?

click on insert image button...select URL...fail....every time for the last 10 times!....for chrissakes!! How do you do it?...the "how to" thread doesn't say?

Your file must reside on the interwebs, somewhere. photobucket, for example. Otherwise, you have no URL to insert. Hope this helps.

Sure...this is what happens when I do that though...every time!!

Use a third party like Photobucket or Imgur. Much less headaches, just a two step process; upload there, post link here.

You'll need to register, use Hushmail for hassle free, no-cost email address.

upload to photo bucket and then upload or you can resize with paint... ( this does tno always work out well but is a ghetto way of trying)

You can upload a file from your computer. Then post, then edit, then right click on the uploaded pic link, then open in new tab, then copy URL, then post as a pic from URL. Do uncheck the box for retrieving data.

Ok, trying again with a pic of ASE....and now it seems to work....thanks all!! I believe I was failing to 'uncheck' the little box.

I know, for some reason I can't get the picture to just show up in the thread. In other forums I have no problem, just the Kitco website does this to me. I used to be able to do it here, but the forum software has changed.
