That's a great thought.

I was wondering about the long term implications of man's abity to create dollars out of paper and ink without any backing whatsoever...up to $100 billion/month. And Euros, Yen, Yuan, Reals, Rupees, etc..

I totally agree which is why I am drawn to Silver and Gold but I feel I would be doing myself a disservice if I failed to question and research the validity of my beliefs and inquire about potential variables in what I have perceived as the finite nature of the supply of Gold and Silver.

I don't doubt (disbelieve) anything this day in age with all the corruption and greed going on. Claims are made all the time, go ahead and believe them all, I don't. I'm still one of choice in thought, good luck in anyone trying to manipulate that. It's not going to happen. Price of gold is only relevant in today's world. The technological singularity will make things like this feasible and cheap. Before the end of the of the century.

Mercury can currently be converted to AU using a nuclear reactor or accelerator.

Food can currently be converted to death accelerators, vaccines can be converted to death accelerators, bottled water can be sold in toxicity. Smart meters, cell phones, Ipads, etc. can be converted into cancer causing accelerators. Gold can not be created. It is an element unto itself. It can no more be accelerated than the job growth of today.

Substance without matter is more or less a vacuum of nothingness. Do you even know what an amoeba is? Perhaps that's what you think of all of us people. We just grow and feed upon ourselves do we? We are not the amoeba's, we are the people.

Read Gold Standard's and my comment on page 2 of this thread.

Gold can be 'made' from other elements, but it takes a lot of energy and effort.

IF we had very very cheap energy then we can 'make' Gold, but it is very difficult to do and probably will never occur in our lifetime.

But, if we have very cheap energy then see my comments above...we could easily mine a whole bunch of Gold and that would change things a bit.
