While I agree with your assessment, timing is everything.
Tesla may well have some legs to run on for a little while but I don't see it as sustainable. In the next economic downturn they are going to get hit hard and as far as I can tell the Fed is set on tapering (as the risk of carrying a larger portfolio is now trumping their economic targets).

Amazon is not comparable as their revenues are running at a 64 billion dollar clip vs about 1.5 billion for Tesla.

we are all floating in a sea of liquidity. The tides turn. In some places the tide turns sooner than others and in the case of money printing the tides do not flood evenly as nature and moon intended. we have had a 100% unevenly flood for the last 4 years in the US while the rest of the world flooded then ebbed 50%. Do you really want it to keep flooding for 2-3 years? It seems whatever bad news is portrayed about the economy the flood deepens nearing a tsunami based on liquidity by the feds buying more bad debt while the government strips away your rights becoming more of a global monster against peace in the global economy. Hopefully soon the balancing act changes as all tides flood and ebb naturally. This artificial showcase of stocks (tesla) (window dressing) will all end very badly one day the longer the flood lasts the deeper the scars will be. Who knows what will trigger the ebb but it will happen the sooner the better IMHO so there will be a normal balance again. Otherwise it may be complete destruction (WW3) of life we know today. Enjoy the ride while you can and enjoy the fantasy of cheap money.

Continued trading in the tight 160-170 range continues into its third week--consolidation until earnings report?

Good job! Now that it is in the 150's. Should continue to go lower as the flower falls from the bloom.
