not young queen but old victoria, 1889 and 1899, 1899 1/2 sov.
i did bought some young queen/shield sovereigns at spot about 15 years ago but i didn't know much about sovereigns back then and didn't bought much. Have not come across young queen/shield or Canada sovereigns for several years, maybe they go fast as i don't visit my lcs that often. Wish i were more knowledgeable back then.
5% GST is added to spot but i thought for fractional, the extra 5% is worth it since fractional bullion carries >5% premium anyway.
there is a 5 peso onza there too but i didn't buy it, not into mexico onza or libertad for the time being

That's a great find at spot for a universal fractional gold coin, just to bad you needed to pay 5% GST tax on them. The gold sovereigns, at least at one point, were both minted and considered legal tender in Canada. Was there a ruling that they are no longer legal tender? If not, I don't see why the exchange of these for other legal tender should be taxed anymore than use of the Canadian fiat dollars should be taxed as "goods and services".
Given the Canadian tax on gold bullion that is not 99%, I'm thinking many with large numbers of 22K gold would consider melting them down, or moving across the border, as that 5% tax really destroys the liquidity and use of such gold (aside from collecting).

Only thing for you is, don't they have sales tax on non 24K gold bullion up in Canada? Or do you plan to sell outside of Canada, or able to keep all discrete from TPTB?

Asking price was BIN which i bid on, i ended that auction pretty quick

just pick it up from my community mailbox now.
The coin look AU53 to me instead of EF as told by the seller.

the one that i got... had a 'A' mint mark. Oh well, still my first time buying
a gold coin for under melt.

yellow, all Ok, just in case you didn't know the marks and their difference in value. 20 francs are very liquid coins in europe and be happy you could get the coin that cheap. her it is noit the case. in France there is nowadays a 11 pct tax on goldcoins so if you can buy at spot it is great.
Some governments are now taxing everything what is loose or fixed, but that only displaces the market to more lenient places.
