Buy Low Sell High
Keeping it simple with the Eagles, Maples and Krugs....
just getting into gold, i was able to snag a 5 gram credit suisse for 265.
for gold, have mostly stacked incuse indian qtr eagles, a few half eagles as well. more recently fell in love with the 20 franc roosters for their design and low premiums. but since i started collecting coins as a kid I always wanted a st gaudens double eagle, if for no other reason because it was the highest denomination coin in my coin books (which i recently found). So today, armed with a portion of my tax return i went to my fav lcs and was expecting to get a buffalo or something as the dip has made the bullion seem like a better deal.. but he had an amazing 1926 st gaudens and offered it to me for 1750. it isnt graded but will likely grade at ms63/64 which makes it well worth it. ive been buying incuse qtr eagles for around 200-210 even when spot was over 1700. i also bought 2 nice international (unweighted) sterling salt and pepper shakers the weighed about 2 oz each today. anyway, long term coin collecting goal, accomplished.
