at 7.3% below melt, no tax, shipped with tracking.

It's a 1886A 20 franc Angel ungraded but had MS64 written on the 2x2 flip. From her not too clear photos it looks like AU58-MS62 range.
She asked for same price as last one but i gave her melt (more) instead, shipping included.
She's happy, i'm happy. It's in the mail.

there exists also an earlier small 1848 Aand 1849 A Genie ( angel ) series.

So yr coin is not rare, but including shipping a good price, I also would buy ( if I could get )

i did see this coin as bullion, not a rare coin, that's what i told the seller which she lowered her initial ask price back
to my 1st coin price at 7.5% below melt. She says she still learning, and said often she end up selling at what the buyer had suggested after learning about the coin. I gave her melt (22 USD more) because i want to retain good relationship with the seller, hoping she give me first dip on future coins she's ready to sell. although i have no clue what she have but I did give her a short list on coins that i prefer

1886 mintage is in the middle of the pack, relatively speaking, 984 875. Yes, not rare.
I do hope it's would be MS60 or better, so the suspense has not ended yet.

it's ok, i asked to gauge what mix of date of you got in current time.
Modern dates are interesting because their mintage is low compared to the past that runs into million each year.
Also better chance getting BU in modern dates too.

yeh, the old dates have big mintstrikes, but they were withdrawn when worn, so the mintingnumbers are not always a reliable indication of their " abundance " or " scarcity" The UK has been paying huge goldamounts to the US during the dirst WW and probably also during the second to finance the war. Wars first eat away savings, then when those are consumed starts the inflationary period due to the printing of monopoly money pretending to be real money.

The big crash at the end of the twenties and beginning of the thirties was the retarded explosion of the first WW money printing, not because of the goldstandard ( that is a big lie ). The monopoly money first created a boom - ( loose money seeking goods and services, - people wanting to get rid of the depreciating money ) - causin overproduction and then PANG, suddenly the demand collapses, because the prices of the overproduced stuff is far too high and people do not need so much stuff anymore.

This is a classical boom / bust cycle, I have witnessed several times in my branch such a phenomenon and by extrapolation this is what happening at the very moment globally.
