since there is a "what did you score on the bay" thread, I thought this might work also...since I dont do bay purchaces.
I went into a small lcs and bought all the silver ASE's he had, he was scrambling around to find more and threw one in. Months later I was doing inventory and noticed it was a 2007w, got it for two over spot...$29 dollars, seen it for sale at around $45. Yay me.
I remember when a silver dollar looked as big as a wagon wheel.

a good LCS is not so easy to find it seems. your lucky to have one nearby. mine was good for years but in the last 2 years they bumped up prices vs. spot too much for ASEs.

at one of the flea markets we sell at, today we had a walk up seller, (an antique dealer we know quite well), sell/trade our associate, 60 rolls of assorted silver dimes, all mercs and roosie's... slicks to BU...

all 60, for $3500.00 cash, and a piece of historical furniture he wanted from us....

an old Primitive Pennsylvania, milk painted, 6 board chest, we bought several years ago for $250.00 at an estate sale, we had it priced at $4000.00, since we know of only 3 to 4 other documented similar chests, by the same maker most likely from 1810-1825..... she knows we would have, would have taken $3250.00 any day, all day, a sweet PA/German example, well executed and built, new to the market now... fresh out of our barn since we bought it in New Hampshire !!!

.... she opened each and every roll before he left and was able to take the chest away... good deal all around, if we had not bought it a few weeks back to sell somehow, a well respected auction house would have gotten it sooner or later...

.so our total cost in simplistic terms was $3750.00 for 3000 90% dimes, minus her pay and a few other expenses...

our associate???, we gave her 100 dimes for her bargaining prowess, plus her normal compensation... still our deal....

my son and i are sorting them now...

Yes, we had a great time there. I haven't been to a flea market in a few years. My parents use to go to Stormville every year back when my father was alive. I looked up the website for Stormville and they have 6 fleamarkets per year. They also have a Facebook page. I've read lots of your posts and you sound like an interesting guy. I hope we cross paths sometime - I'm live in CT too.
