Since the prices at our pumps tend to jump the instant after the price of oil rises, I thought it would be interesting to see how badly our government is shafting us now that the price of oil is dropping like a rock.

If one looks at March/April/May 2009 when oil was last at $83.50/brl, one can clearly see the price of gas was about $0.97 - $0.99 a litre. I guess it's fair to assume that gas prices in Ontario should fall to those same levels in the next few days, unless of course we are being screwed by the McGuinty and or Harper governments. jmo

You can check your own prices in Canadian or US Dollars and or Litres or US gallons here . . . http://www.ontariogasprices.com/retail_price_chart.aspx

Reason being, remember that green tax they tried? But they couldn't figure out how to fairly distribute the taxes across the board so they ended up "scrapping" the tax? I haven't heard much on this issue since....don't know if Rob Ford has any say.

I bet they're being buried in the price of gas. Just a hunch. What do you say?

edit: Also the US/CAD rate was different then
