Days like today sure do make us look that way! :D

Any ideas why platinum is holding so strong today despite the erosion in the others?

I have never doubted my position in platinum for a single second. Very few people on this planet own platinum and more reason for a major price explosion in the years to come.

I have very little of PT, not because I don't think its a better invesment in the short run but because of the price and the premiums. They seem to be higher than gold or silver. Now I know you can buy 1/10 and 1/20 oz but my dealer rarely has any in stock and I like to buy at least once every 2 weeks so shipping would kill me online. I guess what I'm saying is yes and I need to buy more PT.

Every gram of Pt I have was bought on BD's Nucleo Exchange at between $33 and $90 below spot. The prices are manually updated by individual sellers. I shop while they are asleep on mornings when Pt is rising fast.

I bought at $1600 on the day it started its meteoric liftoff recently. Spot was $1690 and rising. Five minutes after I bought, the sellers woke up and jacked it to $1750. Same thing again when I bought at $2020 a month ago on a fast rising morning when spot had hit $2070. Last week, I grabbed ten more at $1900 when spot was $1933.

It's the premiums on silver and palladium that are outrageous everywhere but I've never paid spot for Pt. Check it out.

Seriously,

If that's true, why not buy them all and resell immediately to Kitco or something?

I may but I will wait and see what platy does first! He is a really nice guy and just wants to get rid of stuff. I save him the time and he saves me the money

I don't know if we're smarter, but I think my ulcers are bigger. To participate in the volatility of platinum in the last couple of months takes some big ones. I've seen my one little coin go all over the map. But it is the best looking one to pull out and look at, so I guess I'll keep it. I hope I'm smart.

So can you imagine what its like for some of us that also trade Platinum futures as well. Some days I'm up $40k and others down $15k and so forth. Many years and a tough gut to do this day in and day out.

We've been beat like a read-headed Irish stepchild... almost 9% in less than 36hours, or $170. Gold lost less than 5%, Pd lost less than 4%. Ag... is in the same boat as us! Do you feel smarter?  :(

And no mention whatsoever on why the big drop...

yep I still do. So what if it drops? STOP BOTHERING ABOUT THE DAILY AND WEEKLY CHARTS! I like to sell when it's up to make a quick $100 bucks but most of my stash just sits and I don't care much about 10% in the short run. I figure I got 30 years till I worry about cashing out.

I need that 1800 dollar mark
(As I say it, it'll probably go up exponentially, with my luck)
