Hello Mgmt or Web Master.
I clicked on one of the ads in the banner on the Kitco storefront about metal storage
Caution advised do NOT click this link

https://online.kitco.com/storage

My virus client alerts with a message saying "Threat Found" and this is the culprit

HTML/ScrInject.B trojan

Hope this helps someone somehow

That must be a virus that KITCO desires to have on the store front page ads.
Click the link and they got ya. ??
It is still residing in that ad. I posted here and even emailed the webmaster.
What is the deal? Seems like a weird thing to me.

On this page? https://online.kitco.com/storage

Also curious why you think a virus is still there?

I use eset antivirus and when I click that link that you have in this post^^^ it does alert with a "potential threat" red screen alarm

vertical1,

It was looked into when you posted on March 17th. The page is safe for anyone to visit.

https://safeweb.norton.com/report/show?url=https%3A%2F%2Fonline.kitco.com%2Fstorage

It is unclear why an accusation such as "Kitco must desire a virus to be on the page" would be made. That seems over the top but it probably was made without malice intent.

eset.com has a page to submit report for false positive results of safe sites, but it's not clear how to actually submit them. https://help.eset.com/efsw/7.3/en-US/idh_charon_urlb.html

Since you own the eset product perhaps you would submit it to them for their review

Thank you,

There was NO malice intent I assure you. Rather my lack of understanding of how a thing such as what I encountered would work.
I can submit to ESET and shall. thank you for your assistance. I will even call them and have them help me understand this issue.
Thank you sir.

Information was submitted to eset.

vertical1,

Thank you for the followup information from the tech people at your virus protection vendor. I have passed along the information - hopefully it will be reviewed and any necessary changes to the page will be implemented.

Kind regards
ynot2k

To all: vertical1 followed up with the tech support at his virus protection company and according to them they agree with vertical1 regarding the page. I am not technical enough to provide any insight into the situation. All I can say is it is always good idea to keep ones virus protection up to date so that wherever on the internet one goes some protection hopefully is afforded by your chosen brand. I can't answer any questions regarding this situation as I'm not really qualified to do so and it ideally should be addressed by Kitco, the company (moderators are volunteers, except for Supermod who is staff).

If you have concerns it would be reasonable to take them directly to customer service for the Kitco online store. You will hopefully get a more direct response and, perhaps, it will impress upon them that there is an issue they likely want to resolve.

Thanks to all.
