This is more difficult than Cajus' mystery object contest. Maple leaf? Other?

Ahhhh...according to this chart, there is a unique answer! The chart claims that, in 2007, only one type of palladium coin was minted worldwide: The One Ounce Canadian Maple Leaf.

The diameter is 30mm, by the way...

So I can get the 30mm air-tite and it will fit?

Hold the phone! I got to thinking about this question again and did some more research. The fact is that Pd is very light, compared to Pt and Au, weighing in at just over 12gm/cubic cm (Au around 19 and Pt around 21).

The 30mm diameter number was obtained from NWTM website. That's the same diameter as the gold and platinum Maples so I got to thinking that the Pd coin must be way thicker to be one ounce. Further checking at other websites produced the statement that Pd Maples are 34mm diameter, not 30mm.

It's odd that there seems to be no information at the mint's website...or it's well hidden anyway.

I would have to guess that the 34mm number is probably right, but it is not an easy question to find definitive answers for! I found no information as to thickness, either.

No satisfaction for me either. Google was no help just more confusing. Oh well I'll just buy silver instead.

34mm by ~3.58mm, Maples come in plastic sealed bags.

I have a couple of Pd maples where the plastic mint pouch is a bit scratched and ugly and I should also consider those Air-Tite holders for those as well. Let me know how they work for you and details of where to orders these from. I have been buying my Pd maples from NWT Mint to save the taxes in Canada. The service is great, customs has never hit me for taxes yet and they ususally give me a variety of years when I buy more than 1. Only drawbacks are that delivery takes a while and occasionally I get one with a very worn plastic pouch (the coins themselves are always fine).
Thanks
