Trade setups that can easily produce false signals either rely on chart patterns or are based on candlestick patterns. For those that rely on candlesticks, the pin bar represents one of the most important signals that can be used to filter good and bad trade entries. Candlesticks are, by their very nature, storytellers of what buyers and sellers are doing. A pin bar, especially a long-tailed one, is an important candlestick that signals what buyers and sellers are doing within the context of the pre-existing trend. So, if you have a pin bar appearing on the charts, it is best to understand what it is saying before taking action. Don’t jump the gun.

Users of candlesticks might be surprised to learn what their
statistical analysis revealed. Eg: candlesticks are better indicators
for reversals than for continuation.

There are many patterns in candlesticks. It requires expertise.

Tushar Chande + Stanley Kroll solved this. They noticed that the most important
part of candlesticks are the Open and Close. Then it takes the
difference Open-Close and smoothes it with a moving average,
typical 8 periods. Lo and behold ! Candelsticks are much simpler
now.

Incredible volatility can hit currency markets
--------------------------------------------------

A few points:
---the Fed (and other central banks) decided not to intervene
in the currency markets
---the US $ will continue to strengthen
---inflows of foreign capital might be so big that the USA
administration wants to introduce a tax on foreign capital
inflows. This is unheard of...as yet.
---if emerging markets taxed capital inflows into USA bond markets,
it is virtually a currency crisis
